Scar-Free Plastic Surgery Now a Reality

Sunday, November 29th, 2015

A group of surgeons in Toronto, Canada became pioneers as they completed a certain groundbreaking medical procedure that will change the face of plastic surgery forever.

They proclaim it as the first facial reconstruction procedure without the added scars. The team was led by Daniel Borsuk from Hospital Maisonneuve-Rosemont, an infirmary based in Montreal. In a span of 8 hours, the team worked and completed the process on an adult patient.

By making use of modern technology like 3D modeling and virtual surgery, the doctors carried out the entire facial reconstruction procedure by taking away a vascularized hunk of pelvic bone and restructuring it so it will acclimatize to the rest of the patient’s face, prior to resettling the bone within the mouth’s insides.

Years before this achievement, this kind of method would have taken several intrusions and would have left a number of scars on the patient, the doctors commented.

This undertaking sends a hopeful message to people with disfigurements and would need reconstructive operations to treat deformities. Nowadays, they won’t have to detach themselves and feel bad about their appearances.

Plastic surgery minus the scars can greatly improve one’s self-esteem and self-confidence, thereby improving the value of a patient’s life. This healthy outlook will direct individuals to a life of satisfaction and contentment.

It’s observed that people who are contented with their appearances will be subsequently positive in other aspects of life like work and relationships with other individuals. Thus, this important undertaking in the world of reconstructive surgery is a plus in this industry.

Plastic surgery is here to stay, and accomplishments like this one will make the whole industry stronger. Solutions for a better you are now easily accessible because of the tireless efforts of surgeons to better their craft.

Transwoman Spends a Mint on Plastic Surgery to Look Like a Cartoon Character

Wednesday, November 25th, 2015

We’ve seen supermodel Heidi Klum don a Jessica Rabbit costume for this year’s Halloween, and plenty of people were impressed. But transgender performer Cassandra Cass took the idea to beautiful extremes. The 37-yr. old went under the knife to achieve the cartoon character’s trademark good looks, and she’s very happy and satisfied with the outcome.

Jessica Rabbit was one of the main characters in the Who Framed Roger Rabbit movie, a voluptuous redhead who plays as the wife of the titular character.

Cassandra underwent major surgeries on her body, including Adam’s apple reduction, facial feminization. brow shaving and sexual reassignment. Cassandra also made sure to copy the famous cartoon character’s visage through modifications on her lips, cheeks, nose, breasts, butt and hips.

However, she’s still not over with the nipping and tucking just yet. Cassandra wants a nipped waist just like Jessica’s, which can be achieved through another plastic surgery method. So far she is enjoying the fruits of her body modification’s success.

The times are in fact, a-changing and the procedure is quickly becoming more popular than before. Nowadays, countries like South Korea show that a high percentage of its population have underwent cosmetic operations. Statistics have displayed that 1 out of 77 Koreans opt for surgical or non-surgical body modification to beautify themselves and restore youth. In fact, both men and women have undergone those procedures.

Plastic surgery when done by the best specialists out there is the greatest decision an individual can make. Aesthetic professionals can make a man or woman look more beautiful, younger or shapelier. Thus, if performed right, it can promote a healthier self-esteem, happiness, and a more positive approach and outlook in life. Just like it did with Cassandra Cass.

The “Kardashian Effect” on Plastic Surgery

Monday, November 16th, 2015

A new trend is becoming more popularized in the plastic surgery industry as more women aim to have that curvy body a la Kim Kardashian. The Brazilian butt lift is now slowly becoming one of the most performed procedures in cosmetic plastic surgery.

Barbara Mendoza, the owner of BM Skincare, is a 38-year old aesthetician who wants a body as young-looking as her face. She said, “I’m from Venezuela, so it’s normal in my country to be curvy. I was thinking more like where I come from.”

To have the voluptuous body she wanted, Mendoza visited Utopia Plastic Surgery and Med Spa and talked to Dr. Franklin Rose. Dr. Rose performed liposuction on Mendoza’s mid section and transferred the fat into her buttocks to achieve that “Kardashian Effect.”

Dr. Rose stated that, “It’s very common for us to do liposuction, tummy tuck, maybe even some breast work at the same time we’re doing the buttock lift.” It costs around $5,000 up to $6,000 to get the famed Brazilian butt lift.

Mendoza also added that undergoing the procedure helped her stay in shape. “When you have surgeries, you have to go to the gym, but you feel more healthy,” she said. She feels a lot more confident now because when she sees her reflection, she likes what she’s seeing and how she feels.

People usually look and sometimes even stare at people they find attractive and it seems like more people are now paying her attention. She’s also slowly getting used to the comments she’s getting from both men and women.

“Sometimes I feel nervous because they look at me like, wow. That makes me feel weird but I’m OK with that. I know this sounds superficial, but I feel beautiful. I feel sexy. I feel sensual, ” she said.

Tummy Tucks: More Likely to Lead to Complications

Friday, November 13th, 2015

According to a new study, those who have undergone tummy tucks may be at a higher risk of major complications than those who have undergone other cosmetic surgeries. Abdominoplasty, the medical term for tummy tucks, is a procedure used to remove excess tissue and skin in the abdominal area.

Researchers in the study found out that 4 percent of the 25, 000 people they looked at suffered major complications after they underwent tummy tucks. This is higher than the  average 1.4 percent of other cosmetic surgery procedures.

According to study author Dr. Julian Winocour, a resident of plastic surgery in Nashville’s Vanderbilt University, “Like any other surgery, abdominoplasty carries a risk of major complications. We would advise patients to be aware that major complications … occur more frequently after abdominoplasty.”

Complications could range from blood clots, infections to something severe as lung problems or blood pooling outside of the blood vessels. All these can affect the overall health and the cosmetic result of the surgery.

The risk of complication also becomes higher when tummy tuck is coupled with other plastic surgery procedures. The rate of major complications after a tummy tuck procedure is higher in men, people who are obese and those aged 55 or older, the researchers found out.

According to statistics by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, tummy tuck is said to be the sixth most performed cosmetic surgery procedure in the US. Patients who have undergone the surgery “were more likely to be overweight, have diabetes or undergo combined procedures,” the researchers said.

Winocour said that this high risk of complications may be due to many factors. Factors such as the duration of the procedure and the region affected by the surgery for the abdomen is a vital part and encompasses many internal organs.

Antidepressants: No Coherent Proof That It Could Augment Complications After Surgery

Sunday, November 8th, 2015

A lot of people believe that taking antidepressants before surgery could generate complications such as cancer, bleeding and other hostile intricacies but contrary to the said belief, these are considered to be false. As there are no coherent evidence that taking antidepressants could result to the said complications, according to a research review that was issued by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons on their November issue of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Discontinuing the use of antidepressant before reconstructive surgery may actually multiply the risk of postoperative intricacies instead of restricting complications; this is according to the report submitted by Dr. Isabel Teo of Ninewells Hospital and the Medical student from University of Edinburgh, Christopher Tam Song.

Could antidepressants trigger complications after reconstructive surgery?

Plastic surgeons are not worried about antidepressants, unlike any other medications. The use of this drug has increased in the past few years. According to a report, 1 out of 10 adults and adolescents in the USA use antidepressants. So it is not something to be shocked about when this drug is being used before undergoing cosmetic surgery.

An in-depth review on the risks of antidepressant when used for Plastic Surgery was conducted by Dr. Teo and Mr. Song. They studied 26 research data regarding the effect of antidepressants on a few risks of plastic surgery and these are:

  1. Bleeding
  2. Breast Cancer
  3. Breast Enlargement

According to the deliberation by Dr. Teo and Mr. Song, these studies have shown inconsistent results, some of it shows escalated bleeding rate, while other studies show no risk. Therefore, no consistent attestation of augmented intricacies has been found regarding antidepressants. It may harm the patients “psychologically” if surgeons stop the use of antidepressants and that is to be prevented than these unproven complications that is said to be an effect of the said drug.

A Few Things I Should Have Known Before Going Under the Knife

Thursday, November 5th, 2015

It is common nowadays to have your face enhanced via plastic surgery. Most women are encouraged to go under the knife to achieve the look that they dream for themselves or for even just having the nose that they never had. The women, who undergo reconstructive surgery, have increased in the past 10 years.

Getting work done on your face and on your body is risky but not totally wrong. You should just know a few things before doing so and know what you are getting yourself into. Here are a few things that will help you determine what and what not to do.

  1. Not all surgeons are skilled and qualified

Just because a surgeon had passed the board exams, doesn’t mean that he is a good or experienced plastic surgeon. You have to know how many surgeries they are doing weekly, how long they have been practicing and look for before-and-after photos to judge the quality of his work.

  1. You have to know what you want to do or to change

Never let the surgeon decide for you or what to do with your face. Tell them what you want and bring photos if necessary.

  1. Nothing’s perfect

Yep, no one is and nobody ever will be perfect. Do not let yourself be hyped by thinking that you will look perfect after the surgery. Different, yes but perfect? I don’t think so.

  1. A few regrets may come out after surgery

Regrets do come out at the end. Once you look at the mirror, there is a possibility that you may like how you used to look before the procedure.

  1. A lot of surgeons don’t care about you, they just care about the money

Keep this in mind, that nobody cares more for you than yourself. Pick the right surgeon.

  1. Depression may arise

You cannot do all the things that you used to do like going out with friends and just staying inside your home. You will also feel pain while recovering. It takes time.

  1. It takes a few months to see the result you’ve been wanting

There would be after-surgery swelling and scarring that may take a few months to heal.

  1. Surgery won’t be a solution to fix whatever problem you have in your life

Have you been dumped by your boyfriend? Do you not love your job? All of these won’t go away after your operation.  Before going under the knife, ask yourself why you’re doing it and assess your reasons so no regrets may come after your decision.

So before you go through a procedure, make sure that you know all the risks, get a trusted surgeon and be informed on how the operation should be done.

Monday, November 2nd, 2015

Monica Bellucci recently had an interview with the Daily Mail, where she talked about being casted as Lucia Sciarra in the 2015 James Bond film: Spectre. As the interview goes, they have talked about her not being afraid to grow old as it is part of life. Plastic surgery also came up as one of the topics.

According to the 51-year-old actress, she has never had plastic surgery.

Monica Bellucci’s on Plastic Surgery

As we all know, a lot of women in the show business industry has had work done on their faces and a lot also are expressing their opinions in a judgmental tone of voice.

On the other hand, Belluci is not one of them. She is not against the idea of having plastic surgery, even though she did not go under the knife. She does not want to judge other people who want to enhance their facial features via plastic surgery.

If having plastic surgery and enhancing a feature on your face is what makes you feel better then why not, right? Everyone is entitled for their own actions, those are their own faces. No law prohinits them to not do so. Bellucci has nothing against that. Some people likes and looks better with Botox, and others prefer other treatments or procedure. Bellucci stated that she is for freedom. Anyone can do exactly what they want with their own faces.

So what’s her beauty secret?

She trusts in the power of an all-natural facial cream and professional make-up. She would not let anyone see her imperfect self, except of course if it is required for her role in a drama or movie. She also believes in acupuncture and how it frees your skin and let it breathe.

What’s great about her is she is not afraid to show her age and she is fine with the fact that she is getting old. Bellucci makes sure that she is gracefully aging and happily living her life.

On her recent interviews

She says, “It doesn’t really upset me. People always say ‘have you or haven’t you?’ But it’s my business.”

“It’s my face. So what if I have or haven’t? I don’t read it when people speculate about it.”

Keegan has always been open with the possibility of having plastic surgery. She was asked if she had thought about cosmetic surgery and her reply was, “I would say, never say never.”
